Speedy Spice
My numero uno dinner on demand is stir fry prawns, and there is always a bag of prawns patiently hanging out in my freezer, ready to provide me with an instant hit of high-protein, low-fat tastiness. It's another from The Book, but it's such a simple one that I don't really need to go hauling out The Book to remind myself how to throw it all together.
There's a quick accumulation of the essentials: chopepd red chilli and grated ginger, and a bowl that combines the nostril-tingling flavours of fish sauce, lime juice and brown sugar.
Then it's a case of ready, steady, COOK! It's pretty essential to have the accompanying noodles or rice ready by this point, otherwise your prawns will retreat into cold sad sogginess hanging around waiting for their plus-one.
And then - PING! There it is, waiting in a bowl to heat up your palette. Works every time. Zingy joy.
